The SHARKBITE ur247 is a lead-free, push-fit reducing elbow that connects 3/4-inch pipe to 1/2-inch pipe at a 90-degree angle. It is designed for use with copper, CPVC, and PEX pipe in any combination, requiring no soldering, glue, clamps, or unions. Stainless steel teeth grip the pipe on insertion, and a formulated O-ring compresses to create a watertight seal. The fitting can be rotated after assembly to ease installation in tight or confined spaces. A disconnect tool allows fast removal and reuse of the fitting. Licensed plumbers and experienced trades install this type of fitting for repairs, retrofits, and new construction plumbing.
The ur247 is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a direction change and pipe size reduction are needed in a single fitting. Typical install scenarios include branch connections, fixture supply lines, and repair work on existing copper or PEX systems where torch work is not practical or permitted. The push-fit design makes it particularly useful in confined areas such as wall cavities, crawl spaces, and under-sink installations.
Designed as an OEM-style push-fit replacement fitting for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch copper, CPVC, or PEX pipe.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified trades professional. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before inserting the fitting. Pipe ends must be cut cleanly and deburred before insertion to ensure a proper seal. Removal requires a SharkBite-compatible disconnect tool; do not attempt to pull the fitting free without it.
