The SharkBite UA70B10 is a 3/4-inch diameter, 10-foot length of blue PEX-A cross-linked polyethylene pipe designed for residential and commercial plumbing systems. PEX-A is manufactured using the Engel method, which produces the highest degree of cross-linking and superior flexibility compared to PEX-B or PEX-C tubing. The blue color identifies it as a cold-water line by convention. At 1.06 pounds per 10-foot stick, it is lightweight and easy to handle on the job. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this tubing in potable water distribution, hydronic heating, and radiant floor systems where flexible pipe reduces fitting count and labor time.
This pipe is suited for new construction and retrofit plumbing in both residential and light commercial applications. Its flexibility allows it to navigate around framing and obstacles without elbow fittings, which lowers the total number of potential leak points in a finished system. The blue color coding helps tradespeople quickly identify cold-water supply lines during rough-in and service calls. It is compatible with PEX F-1960 expansion fittings, EvoPEX fittings, and PEX F-1807/2159 crimp and clamp fittings, giving installers flexibility in their choice of joining method.
Compatible with PEX F-1960 expansion fittings, EvoPEX fittings, and PEX F-1807/2159 crimp and clamp fittings. Designed for use in residential and commercial potable water plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM F876/F877 standards. Shut off the main water supply and depressurize the system before cutting or joining pipe. Use the appropriate expansion, crimp, or clamp tool rated for the fitting system being used. Avoid kinking the pipe during bending; PEX-A can be straightened with gentle heat from a heat gun if a kink occurs during installation.
