The SHARKBITE UA70B10 is a PEX-A pipe used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. PEX-A is the most flexible grade of cross-linked polyethylene tubing, manufactured using the Engel method for consistent wall structure and enhanced bend recovery. It resists cracking under stress and handles both hot and cold water supply applications. Licensed plumbers and plumbing contractors install this tubing for potable water distribution, radiant heating loops, and hydronic systems. At 1.1 pounds per unit, it is lightweight and easy to handle on the job.
PEX-A pipe is suited for new construction and remodel plumbing work where flexible tubing is preferred over rigid copper or CPVC. It performs in concealed wall, ceiling, and under-slab runs where expansion fittings or crimp-ring connections are used. The flexibility of PEX-A allows it to navigate framing and structural obstacles with fewer fittings than rigid pipe, reducing potential leak points in the system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation option for residential and light commercial PEX-A plumbing systems using expansion or crimp-style fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the main water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. Use the correct PEX cutting tool for clean, square cuts, and match the fitting type to the pipe grade. Support runs at intervals required by local code to prevent sagging.
