The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UA008A5 is a 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch PEX-A plastic expansion coupling sold in a 5-pack. It is designed exclusively for use with PEX-A pipe and uses the expansion-style connection method, which requires a compatible PEX expansion tool and expansion rings to complete the joint. As the fitting returns to its original size after expansion, the connection creates a leak-resistant mechanical bond that strengthens over time. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install these couplings in residential and light commercial potable water systems where PEX-A tubing is specified.

This coupling is suited for water service line applications, including direct burial in soil and encasement in concrete, making it appropriate for both interior rough-in work and underground supply runs. Compatibility
