The SHARKBITE U870W2 is a white PEX-B flexible pipe rated for 3/4-inch inside diameter and sold in a 2-foot length. It carries a pressure rating of 80 psi and a temperature range of 33 degrees F to 200 degrees F, making it suitable for both hot and cold potable water lines. PEX-B construction allows the pipe to expand slightly if frozen and contract when thawed, reducing the risk of burst failures in cold climates. The flexible format reduces the total number of connection points compared to rigid pipe, cutting labor time and potential leak locations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this pipe in residential and light commercial water distribution systems.
This pipe is intended for hot and cold potable water distribution, fire protection systems, and municipal water service lines. The 2-foot length is well suited for short runs, tight spaces, and repair patches where a full 10- or 20-foot coil would be excessive. The white color coding is a neutral designation, commonly used for general-purpose or recirculation applications where red and blue color differentiation is not required. Plumbers working on stub-outs, fixture connections, or manifold drops will find the short length practical for finish-trim work.
Designed for use in hot and cold potable water distribution systems, fire protection piping, and municipal water service lines. Compatible with standard 3/4-inch PEX fittings and connection systems designed for PEX-B pipe with a 7/8-inch outside diameter.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting or connecting any section of pipe. Use tools and fittings rated specifically for PEX-B pipe to ensure a leak-free connection. Do not expose PEX pipe to direct sunlight for extended periods, as UV degradation can compromise pipe integrity over time.
