The SHARKBITE CASH ACME U870B100 is a 3/4-inch CTS (Copper Tube Size) blue PEX-B pipe coil, 100 feet in length, rated for cold water distribution in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Manufactured using the Type B silane cross-linking method, this pipe carries a burst pressure rating of 1,100 psi at 73 degrees F and 375 psi at 180 degrees F. The silane process delivers elevated antioxidant and thermal stabilizer content compared to other PEX types, making it especially well suited for chlorinated water supplies and recirculation systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this product.

This coil is intended for cold water supply lines in new construction and retrofit applications. It is compatible with 3/4-inch quick-connect fittings and brass PEX insert fittings per ASTM SDR-9 standards, including fittings from other manufacturers that carry ASTM SDR-9 certification. The blue color coding distinguishes cold water lines from hot water runs for faster identification during rough-in and inspection. Typical installations include under-slab runs, in-wall distribution, and home-run manifold systems.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC or UPC as adopted in your jurisdiction. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before cutting or connecting pipe. Support pipe every 30 inches both vertically and horizontally, protect the pipe where it enters or exits slabs or walls, and never kink or expose the pipe to direct sunlight. Maintain minimum clearances: 18 inches from water heaters, boilers, and wood-burning appliances; 12 inches from recessed lights; and 6 inches from gas appliance vents. Do not use duct tape, pipe dope, threading compound, or mineral or linseed oil with this pipe.
