The SHARKBITE CASH ACME U860W25 is a 25-foot coil of Type B (PEX-B) cross-linked polyethylene pipe in white, sized at 0.5 inch CTS (Copper Tube Size). Manufactured using the silane method, PEX-B contains elevated levels of anti-oxidants and thermal stabilizers, making it well-suited for chlorinated water systems and hot-water recirculation loops. The pipe is rated at 1,100 psi at 73 degrees F and 375 psi at 180 degrees F, giving installers a reliable performance envelope for both hot and cold domestic water distribution. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this product.

The U860W25 is intended for residential and light commercial hot and cold potable water distribution. It is compatible with 0.5 inch quick-connect and brass PEX insert fittings. The pipe meets NSF-61 and FDA requirements for contact with drinking water and carries CSA, ASTM, and UPC listings. It is well-suited for under-slab runs, in-wall rough-in, and recirculation system supply lines where flexibility and chlorine resistance are priorities.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or joining pipe. Support pipe every 30 inches vertically and horizontally, and protect pipe at all slab or wall entry and exit points. Do not kink the pipe, expose it to direct sunlight, use duct tape, pipe dope, threading compound, or mineral or linseed oil. Maintain minimum clearances: 18 inches from water heaters, boilers, and wood-burning appliances; 12 inches from recessed lights; 6 inches from gas appliance vents.
