The SHARKBITE U860W10 is a PEX-B flexible pipe designed for potable water distribution in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. This 10-foot coil features a 1/2-inch inside diameter and a 5/8-inch outside diameter, rated to handle 80 psi at temperatures from 33 degrees F to 200 degrees F. PEX-B construction allows the pipe to expand slightly if frozen and contract when thawed, reducing the risk of burst failures in cold climates. Licensed plumbers install this pipe for hot and cold supply lines, fire protection systems, and municipal water service connections. Its flexibility reduces the total number of fittings required on a run, lowering both labor time and potential leak points compared to rigid copper or CPVC systems.
This pipe is suited for hot and cold potable water distribution, fire protection, and municipal water service lines in residential and commercial applications. The white color coding makes it easy to distinguish neutral or recirculation lines from color-coded hot and cold runs. Its flexibility allows it to route through wall cavities, floor joists, and tight framing bays with fewer elbows and couplings. The 10-foot length is well suited for short supply runs, appliance connections, and repair or retrofit work where a full coil is not needed.
Designed for use with standard 1/2-inch PEX fittings and compatible with SharkBite push-to-connect, crimp, clamp, and expansion fitting systems rated for PEX-B pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or connecting pipe. Use a dedicated PEX pipe cutter to ensure a clean, square cut at connection points - ragged cuts can compromise fitting seals. PEX-B pipe requires a compatible fitting method; confirm that all fittings, clamps, or rings are listed for PEX-B use before installation.
