The SHARKBITE CASH ACME U3068FLEX18BVLF is a stainless steel braided water heater connector with an integrated ball valve, designed for residential and light commercial water heater installations. The connector measures 18 inches in length with a 1/2 inch SharkBite push-fit inlet and a 3/4 inch female iron pipe (FIP) outlet. It is constructed of DZR brass internals and a stainless steel braided outer jacket and is rated to 200 PSI and 200 degrees F. The push-fit end accepts copper tubing, CPVC, and PEX, with an integral tube liner included for PEX and CPVC applications. Licensed plumbers install this connector during water heater replacement or new installation work.
This connector is suited for potable and hydronic water distribution systems in residential and commercial settings. The integrated ball valve allows for service shutoff at the water heater without requiring a separate stop valve upstream. It is certified for underground applications as a manufactured joint and does not require an access panel in that configuration. The push-fit technology speeds up installation on copper, CPVC, and PEX supply lines without soldering or compression fittings.
Designed for use with copper tubing, CPVC, and PEX supply lines. Fittings are listed with IAPMO and are certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution systems. The 1/2 inch push-fit inlet connects to standard 1/2 inch copper tube size pipe; the 3/4 inch FIP outlet connects to standard 3/4 inch female iron pipe threaded fittings typical on residential water heater inlets and outlets.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the applicable requirements of the UPC, IPC, or CUPC. Shut off the cold water supply and relieve system pressure before disconnecting or installing any water heater connector. Ensure the pipe end is cut cleanly and deburred before inserting into the push-fit fitting; do not use damaged or corroded pipe ends. When connecting to a threaded port, apply thread sealant appropriate for potable water service per manufacturer and code requirements.
