The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME NSWTA1238Z is a brass quarter turn angle ball valve designed for residential plumbing supply line connections. It features a 1/2-inch copper sweat inlet and a 3/8-inch OD compression outlet, making it a standard solution for connecting supply lines to fixtures such as toilets, faucets, and ice makers. The quarter turn ball valve mechanism provides a full shutoff with a single 90-degree handle rotation. Constructed from brass, the valve is soldered onto the supply pipe at the inlet side, then connected to a braided or rigid supply line at the compression outlet. A removable metal handle is included.
This angle valve is intended for residential potable water supply applications. Typical installations include under-sink faucet shutoffs, toilet fill valve supply connections, and refrigerator ice maker lines. The angle configuration allows the valve to transition from a wall or floor stub-out to a horizontal supply line run. It is compatible with copper pipe at the sweat inlet and accepts standard 3/8-inch OD compression supply lines at the outlet. Package quantity is 12 units per pack, making it suitable for multi-unit or contractor use.
Compatible with copper pipe at the 1/2-inch sweat inlet. The 3/8-inch OD compression outlet accepts standard supply lines used on toilets, faucets, and ice makers.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the main water supply and depressurize the line before soldering the sweat inlet onto the copper pipe. Allow the solder joint to cool fully before applying compression fittings or pressurizing the line. Do not overtighten the compression nut — hand-tighten plus a quarter turn with a wrench is standard practice for compression connections.
