Product Description

The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC334LFA is a lead-free brass drop ear elbow designed for PEX tubing installations in potable water systems. It transitions from a 1/2 inch PEX barb connection to a 1/2 inch female pipe thread (FPT) at a 90-degree angle, with an integral mounting ear that allows the fitting to be secured to a wall or framing member before a fixture is connected. The fitting is manufactured from brass and is certified lead-free, with the wetted surface containing less than 0.25 percent lead by weight. Licensed plumbers install this fitting in residential and light commercial rough-in applications where PEX supply lines terminate at a threaded fixture stub-out point.

This drop ear elbow is used where PEX tubing must be anchored at a wall plate and transition to a threaded fixture connection — common at shower valves, tub fillers, and wall-mount faucet rough-ins. It is designed for use with PEX tubing secured by stainless steel cinch clamps applied with a cinch tool, specifically compatible with Cinch Tool TV 608-743. It meets ASTM F-876 and ASTM F-877 dimensional standards to SDR-9 specifications and is NSF CL-R certified for hot water systems where chlorinated water at up to 140 degrees F is continuously recirculated.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into existing piping. Secure the mounting ear to framing before making the cinch clamp connection to prevent stress on the fitting. Do not use pipe wrenches directly on the brass body — use an appropriately sized wrench on the FPT connection only.
