The SGS PRO 16653 is a tungsten carbide abrasive bur with a tree-with-pointed-end head geometry and a double cut tooth style. It is designed for aggressive material removal and precision shaping in metalworking and fabrication applications. The bur features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 1/4 inch shank diameter, with an overall length of 6-3/4 inches. Operating at up to 37,500 RPM, it delivers consistent cutting performance across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is installed into a rotary die grinder or flexible shaft machine by machinists, toolmakers, and metal fabricators.
This bur is suited for deburring, porting, shaping, and weld blending on steel, hardened steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, nickel, copper, and copper alloys. The tree-with-pointed-end profile allows access to contoured surfaces, angled cavities, and tight interior profiles where flat or cylindrical burs cannot reach. It is commonly used in production shops, maintenance and repair operations, and toolroom environments requiring controlled stock removal on hard materials.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard selection for any rotary die grinder or flexible shaft machine accepting a 1/4 inch shank bur. Meets industry specification SG-3L6.
Installation is performed by machinists or metal fabricators using a standard collet die grinder. Ensure the grinder is fully powered off and the collet is released before inserting or removing the bur. Do not exceed the rated 37,500 RPM maximum speed. Secure the shank fully into the collet before operating to prevent slippage or runout damage.
