The SGS PRO 14225 is a single-cut tungsten carbide abrasive bur with a tree-with-pointed-end head geometry, designed for precision material removal in metalworking and fabrication applications. The bur features a 1/8 inch shank diameter and a 1/2 inch length of cut, with an overall length of 1.5 inches. Rated to 100,000 RPM, it delivers high-speed cutting performance without coating, allowing the uncoated tungsten carbide surface to engage directly with the workpiece. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and fabricators rely on this style of bur for contouring, deburring, and porting operations on a variety of hard metals.
This bur is suited for use in die grinders, rotary tools, and similar high-speed handpieces. The tree-with-pointed-end profile makes it well matched to V-groove work, tapered cavity finishing, and weld preparation on tight-access surfaces. It performs across a wide range of materials including steel, hardened steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, cermet, nickel, copper, and copper alloys, making it a versatile choice for general-purpose metal removal tasks in both shop and field environments.
Designed for use with die grinders, pneumatic rotary tools, and electric rotary handpieces accepting a 1/8 inch collet. Compatible with steel, hardened steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, cermet, nickel, copper, and copper alloys per industry specification SG-44.
Installation is performed by metalworking or fabrication tradespeople using standard collet-equipped rotary tools. Ensure the tool is powered off and the collet is fully disengaged before inserting or removing the bur. Secure the shank fully within the collet to the recommended insertion depth before operating. Always verify that the tool's rated RPM meets or exceeds the bur's maximum RPM rating before use, and wear appropriate eye and face protection during operation.
