The SGS PRO 12465 is a solid carbide abrasive rotary bur in the SD-1 ball head shape, designed for material removal, deburring, and contouring in metal fabrication and machining applications. The bur features a double cut tooth style for aggressive stock removal with reduced chatter, and a titanium nitride (TiN) coating on the head for extended wear resistance. The cutting diameter measures 0.25 inches with a length of cut of approximately 0.219 inches. The 0.25-inch shank is compatible with standard die grinders and rotary tool chucks. This type of tooling is typically installed and operated by machinists, tool and die workers, and fabrication professionals.
The SGS PRO 12465 ball bur is suited for use in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials where precise contouring, porting, or deburring is required. The ball shape makes it well suited for concave surface work, radiused grooves, and intricate cavity finishing in both production and maintenance environments.
Designed as an OEM-style rotary bur replacement compatible with standard 1/4-inch collet die grinders and rotary tools used in machining, fabrication, and maintenance applications.
Installation of rotary burs should be performed by qualified machinists or fabrication professionals. Ensure the die grinder or rotary tool is fully powered off and unplugged before inserting or removing the bur from the collet. Verify that the shank is fully seated in the collet and tightened securely before operation, and confirm the tool RPM rating does not exceed the rated speed of the bur. Always use appropriate eye protection and guarding per applicable safety standards when operating rotary cutting tools.
