The SGS 91270 is a square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a diamond coating, this tool delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in high-performance cutting environments. The 91270 features a 0.125-inch cutting diameter, a 0.5-inch length of cut, and a 1.5-inch overall length. The 30-degree spiral flute helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. With two right-hand flutes and a right-hand cut, this end mill is suited for conventional and climb milling operations performed by machinists and toolroom professionals.
The SGS 91270 is used in precision machining applications across a range of workpiece materials, including ferrous metals, cast irons, stainless steels, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, titanium, and high-temperature superalloys, as indicated by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The straight-cylindrical shank and regular length classification make it a practical choice for standard milling fixtures, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills requiring a 1/8-inch shank toolholder.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Compatible with workpiece material classes coded H, K, M, N, P, and S per the supplier specification, covering a broad range of ferrous, non-ferrous, and high-temperature alloy materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Use a torque-rated collet or end mill holder appropriate for a 0.125-inch shank diameter. Verify runout with a dial indicator after toolholder engagement to confirm concentricity before beginning a cut.
