The SGS 77263 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built on the Series 77 platform, it features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, 7 flutes, and a 2-1/4 inch length of cut, making it well suited for extended-reach finishing and semi-finishing passes. The variable helix geometry reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during cut, which improves surface finish and tool life. A TiN coating adds surface hardness and heat resistance. The micrograin carbide substrate provides toughness at elevated cutting speeds. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and precision manufacturing environments.
The SGS 77263 is classified as a long-series end mill with a 4-1/2 inch overall length and a straight cylindrical 3/4 inch shank. It is designed for right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration. The chipbreaker geometry aids chip evacuation in deep-pocket and slotting operations. Primary workpiece material codes listed by the manufacturer include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. It is not center-cutting and is not intended for plunge entry. The spiral flute design supports consistent chip flow in peripheral and profile milling.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Series 77 designation applies to SGS long-series variable helix end mill product family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank in a compatible end mill holder or collet chuck to the full depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer, ensuring the shank tolerance h6 fit is properly seated. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. This tool is not center-cutting and must not be used for plunge drilling.
