The SGS 77235 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous applications. Built on the SGS Series 77 platform, it features a variable helix geometry and a chipbreaker design that work together to reduce vibration, improve chip evacuation, and extend tool life in difficult-to-machine materials. The 0.625 inch cutter diameter is paired with a 2.5 inch length of cut and a 4.5 inch overall length, making it well suited for deep-cavity profiling and slotting operations. The TiN coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge. Material grade is micrograin carbide throughout.
This end mill is designed for machining across a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous alloys, plastics, and superalloys, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a straight-cylindrical shank, making it compatible with standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders used in CNC milling centers and manual knee mills. The extra-long length type supports reach into deep features where standard-length end mills cannot access.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC and manual milling applications across ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by SGS Series 77 tooling parameters.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before loading or unloading tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the toolholder and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting; excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute carbide tools. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and SGS published feeds and speeds data for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
