The SGS 77150 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. Part of the SGS Series 77, this long-series tool features a 0.375-inch diameter cutting edge with a 1.125-inch length of cut and a 3.25-inch overall length. The micrograin carbide substrate is finished with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating for enhanced wear resistance. Seven flutes with a variable helix geometry and integrated chipbreaker promote efficient chip evacuation and reduced chatter. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC milling centers and manual mills.
The SGS 77150 is suited for milling workpiece materials spanning multiple material codes including hardened materials, cast iron, stainless and heat-resistant alloys, non-ferrous metals, steel, and superalloys. The long-series configuration provides extended reach into deep pockets, slots, and stepped features. The right-hand cut with right-hand spiral flute is standard for conventional and climb milling operations on vertical or horizontal machining centers. This tool is not center-cutting, so plunge entry is not recommended without a pre-drilled clearance hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-purpose end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.375-inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance. Suitable for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before changing or inspecting tooling. Seat the shank fully in a collet, shrink-fit, or hydraulic holder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Because this tool is not center-cutting, do not use it for direct plunge operations without a pre-drilled entry hole.
