The SGS 77139 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, 7 flutes, and a variable helix geometry, it delivers improved chip evacuation and reduced vibration compared to standard fixed-helix tools. The TiN (titanium nitride) finish increases surface hardness and extends tool life in abrasive materials. At 3 inches overall length with a 15/16 inch length of cut, this is a regular-length end mill built for precision slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. Micrograin carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance required for consistent results in production environments.
The SGS 77139 is suited for milling a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, high-temp alloys, and plastics, consistent with material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The spiral flute and right-hand cut configuration make it appropriate for standard vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and manual mills. The chipbreaker geometry aids in breaking long stringy chips, which is particularly useful in gummy or ductile materials. This end mill is used by machinists and toolroom technicians in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or industrial manufacturing settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill for standard 3/8 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders on CNC and manual milling machines. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with proper toolholder torque procedures and runout inspection. Always confirm the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the shank. Secure to the minimum recommended gauge length to maximize rigidity and minimize deflection. Inspect cutting edges under magnification before use and discard any end mill showing chipping or coating delamination.
