The SGS 77117 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-precision finishing operations in demanding materials. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and 7 helical flutes arranged in a close pitch, variable index configuration. The TiN coating supports performance in ferrous and hard materials. With a 3/4 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length, this single-end tool is sized for compact toolpaths where rigidity and surface finish are priorities. It is installed by machinists and tool and die professionals in CNC milling operations.
The SGS 77117 is suited for finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as secondary applications in hard materials. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with standard CNC spindle configurations. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard end mill holders. Its 37-degree high helix geometry promotes chip evacuation in close-tolerance finishing work on ferrous and exotic alloy components.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Suitable for CNC milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per Series 77C application guidelines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using appropriate end mill holders. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Verify shank diameter tolerance class h6 seats fully and squarely in the holder before tightening. Do not use this tool for centercutting operations, as it is not a centercutting design.
