The SGS 77115 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, 7 flutes, and a variable helix geometry, it delivers reduced chatter and improved chip evacuation compared to standard fixed-helix designs. The TiN coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance for extended tool life. At 3/4 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length, this is a long-series tool suited for applications requiring additional reach. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances with an h6 shank and mill diameter tolerance. A chipbreaker is integrated into the flute geometry. Installed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators.
The SGS 77115 is built for milling hard and difficult-to-cut materials. Compatible material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, which correspond to hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. This tool is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in production and toolroom environments. The long-series length makes it suitable for deep-feature milling where standard-length tools cannot reach.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer. Designed for use in standard straight-bore collets and toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch cylindrical shank. Part of the SGS Series 77 long-series end mill family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended grip depth in the collet or toolholder before torquing. This tool is not center-cutting and should not be used for direct plunge operations.
