The SGS 77113 is a 7-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-efficiency metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the SGS Series 77 platform, it features a variable helix geometry that reduces chatter and improves surface finish at aggressive feed rates. The 1/4 inch cutting diameter and 3/4 inch length of cut make it well suited for slotting, side milling, and profiling in tight spaces. A TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating adds surface hardness and heat resistance. Micrograin carbide construction delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for consistent performance in production environments. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CNC machining centers and manual mills.
The SGS 77113 is intended for use in milling operations targeting a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The long-length configuration with a 2-1/2 inch overall length extends reach for deep-cavity work without sacrificing rigidity. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance ensures consistent tool holding in standard collet chucks and end mill holders.
Suited for use with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as classified by the SGS Series 77 product line. Fits standard 1/4 inch collet chucks and end mill holders with straight cylindrical shank retention.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Ensure the collet or tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. This end mill is non-centercutting and must not be used for direct plunge operations — ramp or helical entry paths are required when entering a closed pocket.
