The SGS 74204 is a single-flute solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering and countersinking operations in demanding materials. Built with a 90-degree included angle and a 3/16 inch head diameter, it produces clean, accurate seat angles for flat-head fasteners in a single pass. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/16 inch in diameter and the tool runs 2 inches overall length. Solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and heat resistance needed for consistent performance in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The bright, uncoated finish suits a wide range of applications without the risk of coating delamination on aggressive cuts.
This countersink is suited for use on cast iron, stainless steel, steel, titanium, high-temperature alloys, composites, non-ferrous metals, and plastics. Its compact 3/16 inch cutting diameter makes it appropriate for small-fastener applications where larger tools would be impractical. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians will find it useful for deburring drilled holes and seating flat-head machine screws in tight-tolerance assemblies. The single-flute geometry reduces chatter on difficult materials, making it a practical choice for shop floor and production environments alike.
Designed for use in materials including cast iron, composite, high-temperature alloy, non-ferrous metal, plastic, stainless steel, steel, and titanium. Fits any spindle or collet chuck accepting a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC operators using a standard collet or drill chuck sized for a 3/16 inch straight shank. Secure the shank firmly to prevent runout before engaging the workpiece. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes. Inspect the cutting edge for chips or wear before each use, as carbide tools can fracture if run with damaged geometry.
