The SGS 70533 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding machining environments. With a 0.2362 inch (6 mm) mill diameter and a 0.9843 inch (25 mm) length of cut, this tool delivers precise ball-nose profiling on hardened metals, stainless steels, titanium alloys, and other difficult-to-machine materials. The 4-flute geometry paired with a 38-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers requiring tight tolerances and consistent finishing results.
The SGS 70533 is suited for finishing passes on complex 3D contours, mold cavities, and die surfaces where a ball-nose profile is required. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S indicate suitability for hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon steels, and heat-resistant superalloys including titanium. The long series designation and single-end configuration make it well-suited for applications requiring additional reach into deep pockets or stepped features on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use with workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys including titanium. Part of the SGS Series 7MB long ball end mill family.
Installation is performed by machinists on CNC machining centers. Secure the 6 mm shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, verifying runout before operation. Confirm spindle speed and feed parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and coating type before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised.
