The SGS 70444 is a 4-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide with an AlTiN coating, this end mill delivers heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The 45-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 0.1875-inch mill diameter and 0.75-inch length of cut, this tool is suited for profiling, contouring, and finishing passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. It is a single-end tool with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills in applications requiring tight tolerances and consistent finish quality. The Series 7B long-length design provides additional reach for deeper cavities and stepped features. It is rated for use on a broad range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and superalloys, as indicated by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. Variable index geometry helps reduce harmonics and chatter during finishing cuts.

Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 0.1875-inch shank diameter before use. Verify spindle runout and tool holder condition prior to cutting to protect the tight mill diameter tolerance of +0.000 to -0.002 inches. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material being machined.
