The SGS 66669 is a taper length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in a wide range of materials. Built to Series 142P specifications and conforming to DIN 6537, it features a solid micrograin carbide construction paired with a Ti-NAMITE-X (TX) coating for extended tool life and heat resistance. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and axial thrust at entry. At 9.3 mm in diameter with an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this bit is suited for deep-hole applications where rigidity and chip evacuation are both critical. Licensed HVAC, mechanical, and industrial maintenance trades rely on carbide-tipped and solid carbide tooling like this for demanding production and service environments.
The SGS 66669 is designed for universal material application, making it appropriate for steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. The coolant-through design supports through-spindle coolant delivery, which is essential in CNC machining centers and production drilling setups where heat buildup at depth would otherwise shorten tool life or compromise hole tolerance. The right-hand spiral flute with web thinning improves chip flow and reduces torque requirements in deeper cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production drill bit for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production equipment accepting straight cylindrical shank tooling at 9.3 mm diameter per DIN 6537 specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per standard OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify collet or chuck runout before use, as excessive runout in solid carbide tooling accelerates breakage. When using through-spindle coolant, confirm coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the machine and workpiece material before initiating a cut.
