The SGS 66626 is a taper length twist drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in a wide range of materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with Ti-NAMITE-X (TX coating), this bit delivers extended tool life and heat resistance under demanding cutting conditions. It features a 135-degree split point for fast, accurate starts with minimal walking. The 5 mm diameter bit runs a spiral flute with an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio, making it well suited for deeper hole applications where chip evacuation is critical. Coolant-through capability further supports high-feed drilling in production environments. This bit is designed for installation and use by machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision fabrication professionals.
The SGS 66626 Series 142P drill bit is rated for universal material application, meaning it performs across steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. Its right-hand spiral flute and web-thinned point geometry reduce thrust and improve chip flow in both CNC machining centers and manual drill press setups. The straight cylindrical shank accommodates standard drill chucks and collet holders sized for the 5.99 mm shank diameter. This bit follows DIN 6537 specification, making it a recognized standard for taper length tooling in precision manufacturing environments.
Designed as a universal-material taper length drill bit per DIN 6537, compatible with standard straight-bore drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 5.99 mm cylindrical shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out. Ensure the chuck or collet is clean and undamaged before seating the shank to the specified grip depth. Coolant-through setups require that the machine spindle coolant circuit is correctly configured before engaging the feed. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for RPM and feed rate selection based on workpiece material.
