The SGS 66576 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production and maintenance environments. It features a 135-degree split point for reduced thrust and self-centering entry, along with a Ti-NAMITE-X coating that extends tool life by increasing surface hardness and reducing friction. The 10.30 mm (0.4055 inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 12.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, making it compatible with standard chuck and collet toolholding. This drill is built for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals working with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials.
The SGS 66576 Series 142P is suited for precision drilling in both manual and CNC machine setups. The micrograin carbide substrate and web-thinned point geometry support consistent hole quality in tight-tolerance applications. With a maximum drilling depth of 49.00 mm and a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it handles through-hole and blind-hole operations in production environments. Coolant-through capability allows internal delivery of cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, supporting higher feed rates and longer tool life in high-duty-cycle machining.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes accepting a 12.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Fits drill chuck and collet toolholding systems sized for the 0.4700-inch shank diameter.
Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Secure the drill to the manufacturer-recommended torque for the collet nut or chuck key before initiating a cut. When using coolant-through capability, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant delivery and that system pressure is set appropriately for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edge and point geometry before each use; carbide tools are brittle and should not be used in applications involving interrupted cuts or significant lateral loading without confirming suitability.
