The SGS 66520 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in hard and abrasive materials. Built to DIN 6537 standards, it carries a Ti-NAMITE-X (TX) proprietary finish that extends tool life in demanding applications. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and lowers thrust requirements at entry. At 2.9134 inches overall length with a 1.4173-inch flute, this bit fits standard jobber-length applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention needed when drilling hardened steels, stainless alloys, and cast materials. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors as well as industrial machinists rely on carbide tooling at this performance grade for production and maintenance drilling.
The SGS 66520 is suited to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and powered hand tools where a straight cylindrical shank is required. The coolant-through design allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, making it effective in deep-hole and high-speed production setups. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in materials that work-harden or produce long stringy chips. This bit fits applications within the 0.150 to 0.200-inch diameter range category and is appropriate wherever a wire gauge size 13 hole at 0.185 inches is specified.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a 0.230-inch straight cylindrical shank. Fits applications specifying wire gauge size 13 or 0.185-inch diameter in the SGS Series 142P product family.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the spindle, collet, or chuck is fully secured and rated for the shank diameter before operation. Carbide tooling is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid lateral loading or side pressure that can cause chipping or fracture. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm coolant pressure and flow are within the machine tool specifications before beginning the cut.
