The SGS 66512 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537 specifications, it features a 135-degree split point, Ti-NAMITE-X coating, and web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collets. At 3.90 mm in diameter with a 2.9134-inch overall length, this drill is sized for precision work in metalworking, machining, and fabrication applications where dimensional accuracy and tool life are critical. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators.
The SGS 66512 Series 142P drill is suited for drilling through steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a high-performance carbide tool is required. The coolant-through design supports internal coolant delivery, making it compatible with machining centers and CNC mills equipped with through-spindle coolant. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip clearance for holes up to 43.00 mm deep. This drill is a strong candidate for high-speed, high-volume production runs where tool life and hole quality are priorities.
Designed as a high-performance OEM-style jobber drill for use in machining centers, CNC mills, and drill presses with standard chuck or collet toolholding systems accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the drill. Seat the shank fully in the collet or chuck and torque the toolholder to the machine manufacturer's specification. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine and tooling manufacturer's recommended range before initiating the cut.
