The SGS 66426 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this bit measures 5/32 inch (0.1562 inches) in diameter and delivers a compact overall length of 2.5984 inches, making it well suited for short-reach, high-precision applications. The 137-degree split point with web thinning promotes accurate starts and reduces thrust load. A proprietary coated finish extends cutting life. The straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard chucks, and the right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry clears chips efficiently. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and CNC operators rely on this bit for consistent, repeatable results.
This drill bit is designed for universal primary workpiece materials, making it a practical choice across metalworking, manufacturing, and maintenance environments. The Series 142P geometry with a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 1.1024-inch maximum drilling depth suits production drilling in both manual and CNC setups. The coolant-through design supports high-speed machining operations where heat management is critical. It is packaged as a single unit and is appropriate for job shops, production lines, and toolroom use where short-length drill geometry is specified.
Designed as a screw machine length drill bit for universal workpiece materials; compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and CNC tool holders accepting a 5.9995 mm (approximately 0.2362 inches) straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling handling requirements. Secure the straight shank fully in the chuck or collet to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before operating. Carbide tooling is brittle and can fracture if subjected to lateral impact or improper clamping; inspect the shank and cutting edges for chips before each use. Enable coolant flow prior to engaging the cut when using the coolant-through channel to prevent thermal shock to the carbide substrate.
