The SGS 66410 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling across a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with Ti-NAMITE-X, this bit delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in demanding production environments. The 4.00 mm (0.1575 inch) diameter paired with a 135-degree split point and web-thinned geometry reduces thrust force and improves centering without a pilot hole. At 66.00 mm overall length with a 24.00 mm spiral flute, the compact screw machine profile suits tight-clearance fixturing and automated spindle applications. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed machining with proper chip evacuation. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators working in production shops are the primary users.
The SGS 66410 is suited for universal workpiece materials, making it adaptable across steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar substrates encountered in general machining and manufacturing operations. The screw machine length design is ideal for drill press work, CNC machining centers, and turret lathes where a shorter flute-to-shank ratio provides rigidity and reduced deflection. The 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank (0.2300 inch) fits standard collet chucks and keyless drill chucks common to these setups. Series 142P designation follows DIN 6537 specification, which governs dimensional standards for this bit geometry.
Designed as a screw machine length replacement drill bit conforming to DIN 6537 specification, suitable for standard collet and keyless chuck systems accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully within the collet or chuck to the rated grip depth before operation. Verify coolant-through lines are purged and delivering clean fluid before beginning high-speed drilling cycles. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 0.9449 inches (24.00 mm) per plunge without retracting to clear chips.
