The SGS 63191 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built from solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN (Ti-NAMITE-A) coating, this bit delivers exceptional heat resistance and wear life at elevated cutting speeds. It measures 10.80 mm (0.4252 inches) in diameter with a 145-degree split-point angle and a notched point geometry that promotes accurate entry and reduces walking. Overall length is 102.00 mm (4.0157 inches). Licensed HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and metalworking trades rely on solid carbide construction when drilling alloy steels and titanium where high-speed steel tooling falls short.
The SGS 63191 is suited for machining alloy steels and titanium in production environments where screw machine length tooling is required for rigidity and minimal runout. The shorter body of screw machine length bits makes them the preferred choice in turret lathes, screw machines, and CNC machining centers where overhang must be minimized. The 2-flute regular spiral design with a tapered web and web-thinned point supports efficient chip evacuation during deep-hole passes up to 40.00 mm.
Designed as a direct-fit screw machine length drill bit for use in turret lathes, CNC machining centers, and automatic screw machines accepting a straight shank with a 12.00 mm shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials are alloy steels and titanium. Part of the SGS Series 135M product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before loading or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify shank diameter compatibility with the chuck or collet bore before tightening to avoid runout. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; use external coolant or appropriate dry-cutting lubricant as required by the workpiece material and shop safety guidelines.
