The SGS 57133 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in hard and abrasive materials. It measures 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) in diameter with a 118-degree four-facet point angle and an overall length of 2.25 inches. The bit features an AlTiN (Ti-NAMITE-A) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting applications. A web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals working on precision drilling operations.
The SGS 57133 is intended for general-purpose drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other tough materials where carbide tooling outperforms high-speed steel. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD and a maximum drilling depth of 1 inch, it is well-suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines requiring tight-tolerance bores. The right-hand cut and regular spiral flute pattern provide consistent chip flow in typical vertical and horizontal drilling setups.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production drill bit for applications requiring a 1/8-inch solid carbide jobber-length bit with a straight shank compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide cutting tools. Ensure the drill chuck or collet is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely fixtured before operation. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed rates, or dropping the bit, as these can cause chipping or fracture. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before beginning the cut.
