The SGS 57005 is a combination drill and countersink designed for precise, one-step drilling and countersinking operations in machine shop, metalworking, and fabrication environments. Built from solid carbide, this Series 301 tool delivers superior hardness and heat resistance compared to high-speed steel alternatives. It carries a Size 00 trade designation with a 1/8 inch body diameter, a 1/8 inch drill point diameter, and an overall length of 1.5 inches. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the tool ready for immediate use without additional prep. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this style of combination tool to locate and countersink in a single pass, reducing setup time on manual and CNC equipment.
The SGS 57005 is suited for precision countersinking work in light-duty machining applications where a small diameter, rigid tool is required. The 60-degree included angle and plain cutting edge style make it appropriate for standard countersink profiles. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional right-hand spindle rotation on mills, drill presses, and lathes. This tool is typically used in job shops, maintenance machine shops, and production environments that require consistent, repeatable centering and countersinking in metal workpieces.
Designed as an OEM-style combination drill countersink for use in standard drill chucks, collets, and toolholders accepting 1/8 inch shank tooling on mills, drill presses, and lathes.
Installation and use of this tool should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with proper cutting tool handling. Secure the shank firmly in an appropriately sized collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify spindle speed settings are appropriate for carbide tooling in the workpiece material. Solid carbide tools are brittle and should not be subjected to side loads or interrupted cuts beyond their rated capacity. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
