The SGS 56450 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production and metalworking applications. Built to DIN 6537 specification, it features a 135-degree split point, Ti-NAMITE-X coating, and a web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for drilling hardened steels, stainless, cast iron, and other difficult materials. With an overall length of 3.5827 inches and a 19/64-inch (0.2969 inch) diameter, this bit fits standard jobber drill setups and is installed by machinists and tool-room professionals in both CNC and manual drilling operations.
The SGS 56450 Series 142P is suited for high-speed production drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, composites, and hardened alloys. The coolant-through design supports internal coolant delivery, making it appropriate for CNC machining centers where through-spindle coolant is available. It is a right-hand cutting, spiral-flute bit with a straight-cylindrical shank and is sized for use in standard drill chucks, collets, and hydraulic tool holders accepting a 0.3100-inch shank. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate flute length for typical jobber drilling depths without compromising rigidity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for applications requiring a 19/64-inch diameter jobber drill in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with through-spindle or external coolant capability.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit. Confirm that the chuck or collet bore matches the 0.3100-inch shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable limits before operation. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the tool and workpiece material before beginning the cut.
