The SGS 53124 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a bright/uncoated finish, this bit features a 150-degree point angle that reduces cutting force and improves centering on hard surfaces. The three-flute spiral design promotes efficient chip evacuation and helps maintain stable cutting action. At 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) diameter and 4.25 inches overall length, it is sized for standard jobber-length applications. The web-thinned, tapered web construction reduces thrust requirements, making it well suited for tough ferrous and non-ferrous stock. The SGS 53124 is intended for drilling cast iron, hardened steel, non-ferrous metals, and general steel. The straight cylindrical shank allows use in standard drill chucks and collet holders on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld power drills with appropriate chuck capacity. With a maximum drilling depth of 2.20 inches and a flute length of 2.75 inches, this bit handles a wide range of through-hole and blind-hole operations where solid carbide performance is required over high-speed steel alternatives.
