It is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide with a bright, uncoated finish. The bit features a 118-degree faceted drill point, a two-flute right-hand spiral configuration, and a web-thinned, tapered web design that reduces entry force and helps center the bit on the workpiece. The straight-cylindrical shank matches the bit diameter at 0.0700 inches. This is a Series 101 tool built to DIN 338 standards and is installed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and composite fabricators.
The SGS 51050 is engineered for drilling composite materials, making it well suited to aerospace, electronics, and industrial fabrication environments where small-diameter precision holes are required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 7/8-inch flute length support consistent chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate drilling depths up to 0.7031 inches. This bit should be installed and operated by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling.
