The SGS 46852 is a single-end, corner radius end mill manufactured from solid carbide micrograin substrate and coated with TiN for extended tool life. It carries a 4 mm cutting diameter, a 0.30 mm corner radius, and a 4-flute variable-helix design that supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The 11 mm length of cut and 6 mm straight cylindrical shank fit standard end mill toolholders. Variable helix geometry reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, and the centercutting configuration allows plunge entry. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shop, aerospace, and precision manufacturing environments.
The SGS 46852 is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in hard materials. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation suit conventional and climb milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The standard-length flute and straight shank make it compatible with a wide range of collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic toolholders used in production and prototype machining. It is well suited to contour milling, profiling, and slot work where a controlled corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations in the finished part.

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout at the toolholder before commencing the cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter end mills. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
