The SGS 46851 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built to the ZPMC series specification, it features a 3 mm mill diameter, an 8 mm length of cut, and a 0.30 mm corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The TX coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability, making this end mill well suited for aggressive material removal as well as finishing passes. A 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard end mill toolholders. The 4-flute, variable-helix, variable-index geometry suppresses chatter and improves surface finish. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC milling operations.
The SGS 46851 targets steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its micrograin carbide substrate and TX coating handle the elevated cutting temperatures and abrasive conditions common when milling these workpiece families. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers using standard end mill toolholders. The variable helix and variable index angles reduce harmonic vibration during long-reach cuts and interrupted cuts alike, supporting both roughing and finishing strategies in a single tool.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Confirm shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before operation. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the shank.
