The SGS 44891 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. Built to Series 43MS standards, this single-end tool features three spiral flutes with a 38-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting performance. A Titanium Diboride (TiB2) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in demanding applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and edge retention at the cutting diameter of 0.1575 inches. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry make this a standard configuration for CNC machining centers and manual mills running conventional setups. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
The SGS 44891 is suited for finish and semi-finish milling operations in aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.2362 inches diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC routers. The regular-length configuration and 11 mm length of cut make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth passes in production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances and clean surface finishes are required.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and routers equipped with collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a 0.2362 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility is non-ferrous metals (Material Code: N), including aluminum, copper, and brass alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tooling change procedures for the machine in use. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before torquing the retention mechanism. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to confirm concentricity within the tolerance required for the application.
