The SGS 44691 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. Part of the SGS APR series, it features a 20 mm cutting diameter, a 3 mm corner radius, and three helical flutes with a high helix angle of 38 degrees. The TiB2 (Ti-NAMITE-B) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpieces. With a short flute length and extended reach configuration, this end mill suits deep-pocket and contour milling operations where tool rigidity and chip evacuation are critical. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators using standard end mill holders.
The SGS 44691 is engineered for roughing operations in non-ferrous metals. Its coarse pitch, chipbreaker geometry, and coolant-through design make it well suited for high-volume material removal passes on CNC machining centers. The 20 mm straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance ensures a secure, repeatable fit in standard end mill holders. The extended reach of 64 mm allows access to deep features without requiring a longer overall tool assembly. Typical applications include pocket roughing, shoulder milling, and ramp entry cuts in aluminum and other N-group workpiece materials.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Intended for CNC machining of non-ferrous metals including aluminum and similar N-group workpiece materials. Shank diameter is 20 mm with h6 tolerance.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before mounting, verify that the end mill holder bore and clamping mechanism are clean and free of debris to ensure proper seating and minimize runout. Confirm that spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are set according to the machine tool manufacturer and tooling application guidelines for the specific workpiece material. Do not exceed the tool's rated cutting parameters, and inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use.
