The SGS 44627 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. Built to Series 43MAPF specifications, it features a 4-flute, right-hand helical design with a 41-degree helix angle that promotes aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for demanding material removal on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar workpiece materials. A titanium diboride (TiB2) coating reduces friction and built-up edge, extending tool life in non-ferrous applications. This end mill ships as a single-end tool ready for direct chuck or collet mounting in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
The SGS 44627 is suited to production and job-shop environments where non-ferrous material removal is the primary task. Its regular-length geometry and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard ER collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style chucks. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on aluminum components, copper bus work, and brass fittings. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility for pocketing operations. It is intended for installation and use by machinists and CNC operators working in metalworking, HVAC component fabrication, and general precision machining.
Designed for use with standard ER collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style chucks accepting a 0.2362-inch straight cylindrical shank. Optimized for primary workpiece material category N (non-ferrous metals) per SGS Series 43MAPF application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from any holder. Clean the shank and holder bore of chips and coolant residue before seating the tool to maintain runout within specification. Do not exceed the holder manufacturer's recommended torque for set screws or collet nuts, and verify tool projection length against the programmed depth of cut before starting the spindle.
