The SGS 43505 is a solid carbide, square-profile end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from micrograin carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, it offers a 0.2362-inch cutting diameter and an extra-long length of cut of 0.9843 inches, giving machinists greater reach in deep-pocket and slotting operations. The 3-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a wide range of workpiece materials. This is a single-end, right-hand cut tool with a straight cylindrical shank, produced under the SGS Series 5XLM designation.
The SGS 43505 is suited for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines working in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steels, cast irons, stainless alloys, aluminum, and superalloys. The extra-long length of cut makes it particularly useful where standard-length end mills cannot reach the required depth. It is compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as defined by ISO material classification, covering a broad cross-section of shop floor applications from production machining to tool and die work.
The SGS 43505 is compatible with workpiece materials designated by ISO codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened materials, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, steels, and superalloys. It fits standard 0.2362-inch (6 mm) tool holders and collet chucks accepting straight cylindrical shanks.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The shank should be inserted to the full recommended depth in the collet or tool holder to minimize runout and prevent pullout under cutting load. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate settings match the material and cut depth before engaging the workpiece. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and never exceed the stated length of cut depth in a single pass without verifying machine rigidity and fixturing stability.
