The SGS 43446 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Built on the Series 33MCR platform, it features a 4 mm cutting diameter, a 0.3 mm corner radius, and a 12 mm length of cut. The variable helix geometry and coarse pitch flute configuration reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation during roughing operations. An AlTiN coating — SGS proprietary designation Ti-NAMITE-A — delivers elevated heat and wear resistance. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in CNC milling environments.
This end mill is suited for roughing applications in ferrous and exotic alloy materials at the small-diameter end of the spectrum. The 4 mm diameter and 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard end mill holders used in CNC machining centers handling precision component work. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling setups. It is well matched to applications in aerospace, mold and die, and general metalworking shops where tight corner geometry and material hardness drive tooling selection.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium; secondary application includes hard materials.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Seat the 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank fully into a clean, properly sized end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout at small diameters accelerates edge wear. Follow the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
