The SGS 43115 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in CNC and manual milling operations. Built to Series 1XLM extra-long specifications, it features a 0.3150-inch mill diameter, a 0.9843-inch length of cut, and a 4-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle. The micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and edge retention suited for demanding cutting conditions. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration and variable index design help reduce chatter and improve surface finish. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in milling machines and machining centers where extended reach and tight tolerances are required.
The SGS 43115 is suited for milling a broad range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless and high-temp alloys, steel, and non-metallic materials, as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The extra-long length of cut makes it appropriate for deep-pocket milling, slotting, and profiling applications where a standard-length end mill cannot reach. The bright, uncoated finish and straight-cylindrical shank allow straightforward installation in standard collet or end mill holders.
The SGS 43115 is compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, high-temperature alloys, carbon and alloy steels, and non-metallic materials. It fits standard straight-bore collet chucks and end mill holders accepting an 8-millimeter or 0.315-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing end mills from the holder. Verify collet bore size matches the 0.315-inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated and torqued per the holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and follow all applicable shop safety procedures for rotating cutting tools.
