The SGS 40113 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in CNC machining and manual milling operations. It features a 0.0787-inch cutting diameter, four flutes, and a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix that promotes efficient chip evacuation and a clean finish. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide in an uncoated bright finish, the 40113 delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for tight-tolerance work in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is a single-end, centercutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank of 0.1181 inches, making it suitable for standard collet and end mill holders used by machinists in production and job-shop environments.
The SGS 40113 is sized for fine-detail and small-feature milling applications. With a 0.248-inch length of cut and a regular-length body, it fits work requiring controlled reach without excessive overhang. The variable index design helps reduce chatter and improve surface finish across a range of materials. Per its primary workpiece material codes, it is rated for use in hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, long-chipping materials, and high-temperature alloys. It is well suited to mold and die work, precision component manufacturing, and small-bore slot milling.
Designed as an OEM-style Series 1M square end mill for use in standard collet-style toolholders accepting a 0.1181-inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, long-chipping materials, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Ensure the collet or holder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank to achieve proper runout. Follow applicable OSHA machine guarding standards and shop-specific tooling procedures when setting cutting parameters.
