The SGS 39771 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating, this tool delivers extended wear resistance and thermal stability under high-speed cutting conditions. It features a 0.75-inch cutting diameter, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length. The 30-degree spiral helix and three-flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is center-cutting capable and suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is rated for use across a broad range of workpiece materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and composite materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining center setups. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.75 inches diameter fits standard ER or end mill holders. It is a Series 5 regular-length tool, appropriate for general-purpose milling in both vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous materials, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. Fits standard 0.75-inch end mill holders and collet chucks on CNC milling equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder and torque the set screw or collet nut per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to confirm proper seating and avoid premature tool wear.
