The SGS 39707 is a square end mill designed for precision metal removal in a wide range of machining applications. Ground from micrograin solid carbide and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), it delivers consistent edge life and dimensional accuracy. The 0.0625 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 0.1875 inch length of cut, making it well suited to slotting, profiling, and light pocketing in close-tolerance work. Three right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle promote chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.125 inches in diameter, and overall length is 1.5 inches. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments.
This end mill is suited for use on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and precision drilling machines where small-diameter tooling is required. The TiN coating and micrograin carbide substrate support cutting in a broad range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, aluminum alloys, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The regular-length geometry keeps deflection low when working in shallow-to-moderate depth slots and profiles.
The SGS 39707 is compatible with workpiece materials coded H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, aluminum alloys, and high-temperature alloys. It is part of SGS Series 5 tooling and fits any spindle or collet accepting a 0.125 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Use a precision collet or end mill holder sized for a 0.125 inch shank to minimize runout; excessive runout on small-diameter carbide tooling accelerates breakage. Verify that feeds, speeds, and depth of cut are set within the limits appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
