The SGS 39635 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 9/16-inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a TiCN finish, it delivers high wear resistance and thermal stability during cutting. The double-end configuration and 4-flute spiral geometry support efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and tool-and-die operations requiring tight dimensional tolerances.
The 39635 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, cast iron, stainless steel, titanium, and similar workpiece materials across its rated material codes. The stub length configuration makes it appropriate for setups where rigidity and minimal deflection are critical. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, and the right-hand cut with right-hand flute geometry is compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual mills using conventional or climb milling strategies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tool for standard 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank tool holders and collets on CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per the manufacturer specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Verify collet or holder bore size matches the 3/8-inch shank diameter before tightening. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier guidelines for runout inspection and tool projection length before beginning a cut.
